Personally, I like to include GIFs here and there in my emails, as I find that it allows me to inject humour and sometimes a pop culture reference point. For example, my audience knows that I love reality TV. I’ll include GIFs from Real Housewives, Vanderpump Rules and other shows I love to watch. It tends to be that my audience likes those shows too, so they get a kick out of the GIFs.
I have put together a really quick tutorial here on how to actually save GIFs to your computer, so that you can embed them in your emails.
How to Add GIF’s to Emails:
1. Go to giphy.com
2. Select the GIF you like
3. Right-click (or for Mac users, control+click) the GIF
4. Choose ‘save as’ from the drop down menu and select ‘save as image’ (.gif format)
5. Insert it into your email as you would an image
That’s it!
